THE END BEFORE THE BEGINNING | PCT 2020
Mile 0. The Southern Terminus of the Pacific Crest Trail.
That is where I should have been this morning. Food has been purchased. Resupply organized. Bags packed. Car sold. House in escrow.
But thanks to a global pandemic, all of that is being packed into a 20 foot Uhaul and driven to California. Instead of organizing gear at my parent’s house in Central California and heading off to the border, I am living in my parent’s basement until the house sale goes through and I can start what was supposed to be my “post thru-hike” plan.
Buying a van. Building it out. Travel nursing.
While waiting and hoping for some semblance of a thru-hike later this year. The John Muir Trail. Beyond that.
Something.
Until then, I will be designing the van. Figuring out how to wire solar and hook up propane. Waiting.
Then either hiking or travel nursing, whatever way the world seems to be going come June or July.
Happy 30th Birthday to me.
Until next year, PCT.
