JMT | DAY 20 OUTPOST CAMP TO WHITNEY PORTAL TO HOME

The end.

We woke up to sunny skies. We broke down camp for the last time and made our way down to Whitney Portal. Happy and sad for it to be over. Happy because we did it and were ready to be off trail Sad because it was over and were going to be off trail. The three of us were greeted by Tessa’s mom at Whitney Portal. We got breakfast, talked, and cleaned up with wipes while waiting for my parents arrive. And then…

Home. A six-hour drive back to the coast.

The hike didn’t replace what I had planned for the year, nothing could. But it was an amazing experience that I can’t wait to do again. I met some amazing people and learned so much and the trail and myself. Hope to see some of you on trail next year!
