…the Golden Staircase.

     ■  We decided to split up the Golden Staircase and Mather Pass
     ■ Set up tents just before the staircase to wait out rain
     ■ Decided to push through
     ■ Low energy going up, second least favorite day following the climb out of VVR
     ■ Mood immediately improved at Lower Palisade
     ■ Sun came out, we were able to swim and do laundry
     ■ Edwin caught a trout and shared a bite with us—delicious! Hike with someone who likes to fish, if you can
     ■ Some rain before the end of the day, but the night ended with a beautiful sunset
