Started the morning late today, waking up at sunrise, then taking my sweet time getting ready. I think I ended up leaving after 1000. I planned for smaller miles, allowing more time to relax at camp unlike the night before. My goal was at least 1700, if not earlier.
I considered stopping at Garnet Lake, for a very short day, but decided to continue on to Rosalie Lake, which marked approximately halfway to Red's Meadow. This ended up being the perfect decision.

A decision made, I headed on to Rosalie Lake. I heard it was a beautiful lake and had great camping. I knew that there would be a climb before getting to Rosalie Lake, but I underestimated how exhausting it would be. It was around 700 feet in less than a mile, before finally descending into Rosalie. I ended up finding the perfect site just off trail, surrounded by other hikers without feeling crowded. The lake was within walking distance, yet the mosquitos were much better than Thousand Island Lake. I arrived before by 1630, allowing time to swim, do laundry [no soap], and put my feet up.
Tomorrow: Red's Meadow.
